The Washington County Fair Farm Museum

Enter the museum grounds through raised fields of potato and buckwheat plants that were once important crops on our county's farms. Observe potatoes ready to dig and buckwheat blossoms going to seed. Inside, learn more about these crops, egg candling and grading, dairying, ice harvesting and home arts. The main museum building offers a wide variety of displays related to farming and rural life in Washington County. Throughout the week there will be many interactive activities. Test your knowledge of potato history, use a washboard to scrub the laundry, shake some butter, or play a game of checkers. There will also be folks on hand to demonstrate spinning and dyeing wool, weaving baskets, using old wood working tools, and dowsing for water.
