General Information

Accessibility

Entrances & aisles are accessible for guests using wheelchairs. Most fair attractions are accessible, however, the fair staff is not permitted to assist transporting persons to the ride system. They will, however, provide direction to the extent that they are able. Accommodations have been made on the grounds, in buildings, the grandstand and restrooms to accommodate individuals with disabilities. Accessible Parking available in designated areas.  

 

Due to the size of our events and pedestrian traffic, any mobility device powered by batteries, fuel or other engines, cannot be accommodated with the exception of mobility carts and power wheelchairs. We request that those units control their speed to the speed of the pedestrian traffic.

Courtesy Cart Rides

Golf cart rides are available at designated points.  Pick up and drop off at gates and cars for those requiring additional assistance.  Look for signage throughout the fairgrounds.  Call the phone number on the sign for pick up.  Courtesy carts are sponsored by PrimeLink Inc.

Wheelchairs, and Mobility Assistance

A limited number of Wheelchairs and mobility assistance devices are available just inside the white ticket gate.  These are provided by SAIL - Southern Adirondack Assisted Living.

ATM Cash Machines

ATM's are located at 3 locations.  White Ticket Gate, Blue Ticket Gate, and next to the fair's office.  

Comfort/Baby-Changing Stations

Baby Comfort Stations are located in the main restrooms in the center of the fairgrounds near the water tower.

 

Again this year: The Christ the King Center will have a tent near the main restrooms, across from the picnic pavilion to accommodate parents and their young children.  In the tent, there is changing stations, rocking chairs for feeding, play areas and fans for cooling.

First Aid Station

The First Aid Station is manned each day by a full staff of EMS personnel from all over Washington County.  It is located near the Sheriff's building under the flagpole.

Lost and Found

Lost and found articles may be dropped off or recovered at the Fair Office located on Broadway across from the Sheriff's office.  Contact 518-692-2464.

Information Booth and Fair Store

Located in the Fair Office, located on Broadway across from the Sheriff's Office. 

Souvenirs, Shirts, Sweatshirts, Ear Plugs, Rain Panchos, Batteries, Toiletries, and more.

Directions
No Pets Policy

No Pets allowed on the fairgrounds at any time.

Service Dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for persons with disabilities, will be admitted. ***All service dogs must have PROOF of rabies vaccination to enter the grounds.

Do Not Leave Your Dog in the Car. Any dog left in a vehicle will be turned over to the local authorities/ dog warden at the expense of the owner.

NOTE: Confinement of Companion Animals in Vehicles: Extreme Temperatures (NY State Agricultural and Markets Law §353-d): A person shall not confine a companion animal in a motor vehicle in extreme heat or cold without proper ventilation or other protection from such extreme temperatures where such confinement places the companion animal in imminent danger of death or serious physical injury due to exposure to such extreme heat or cold.

Prohibited Items & Behaviors

Listed below are some of the common prohibited items and behavior, but does not limit itself to the following:

 

  • Pets are not allowed (All service dogs must have PROOF of rabies vaccination to enter the grounds)
     

  • Bicycles, scooters, skateboards, rollerblades, heelies, Segways, and golf carts, are not allowed
     

  • No outside alcohol
     

  • No firearms, knives, and weapons of any kind
     

  • Shirts and shoes are required at all times

Smoking
 

Smoking is prohibited in all buildings, tents, under eaves or awnings, around animals, and in the bleachers.  

Smoking is prohibited within 20 feet of any building/tent, and where one or more child age twelve or under may be present, per  NYS Public Health Law, Article 13-E.

Public Address System

Upon your arrival to the fairgrounds, please be sure to have a predetermined meeting spot in the event you get separated.  The “Voice of the Fair” is used for informational and emergency purposes only.  

Police/Security

All emergency concerns should be directed to security or fairgrounds personnel. Security personnel is on duty 24 hours a day during the Fair, both on the grounds and in the Sheriff's building or State Police command post, located across from the fair's office.

Weather

The fair takes place rain or shine.  Some events are weather dependent.  No refunds.  Plan accordingly.
